NEW YORK — The high-level General Debate of the 81st U.N. General Assembly officially began Tuesday, September 22, at United Nations headquarters.
Heads of state, government leaders and other high-level representatives from around the world are gathering to present their countries' positions and priorities.
The General Debate will continue through Saturday, September 26, before concluding Monday, September 28.
This year's gathering comes as several conflicts across the Middle East remain unresolved.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to travel to New York and address the General Assembly on Thursday.
