JERUSALEM — Members of King of Glory Jerusalem, congregations from the Katzir Rav Movement, and international visitors gathered October 3 for a celebration centered on Hoshana Rabbah, Simchat Torah, Scripture, and faith in Yeshua the Messiah.
According to King of Glory Jerusalem, the gathering included believers from Israel as well as visitors from Poland, Germany, and China. The service opened with worship and a procession with a Torah scroll as members of the congregation celebrated together.
Pastor Oren Lev Ari spoke about Simchat Torah and V'Zot HaBerachah, the final weekly Torah portion. The congregation connected the celebration of Torah with God's covenant and promises and its belief in Yeshua.
Pastor Ari Sorko-Ram also taught about the biblical roots of the Gospel, emphasizing that the earliest followers of Yeshua proclaimed their message from the Tanakh—the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings—before the New Testament had been compiled.
The gathering included prayer for Israel, its government, its soldiers, and the people of the land.
Hoshana Rabbah occurs on the seventh day of Sukkot, while Simchat Torah is associated with completing the annual Torah-reading cycle and beginning it again.
For Whole Bible believers, the gathering highlights the connection between studying Torah, observing the biblical feast season, and understanding Yeshua within the biblical story of Israel. The Jerusalem celebration offers a present-day example of believers gathering around Scripture while openly expressing their faith in Yeshua the Messiah.
